A contingent from Abia State, Nigeria, representing Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, visited 91精选鈥檚 campus Sept. 15 to support the execution of a formal partnership between the two universities.
An agreement between the Nigerian university and KSU will initiate an exchange of students between the institutions with a focus on internships and research projects. The institutions also plan to collaborate on a variety of programs. MOUA is particularly interested in KSU鈥檚 aquaculture program, which is one of the top such programs in the world.
Signing the agreement is KSU interim President Raymond M. Burse. Flanking him are MOUA鈥檚 Dr. Princewill C. Ogbonna, director of university advancement, and Anthony A. Nlewadim, a professor in the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management. Standing are KSU鈥檚 Dr. Sam Oleka, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Teferi Tsegaye, dean of the College of Agriculture, Food Science and Sustainable Systems. Michael Okpara University Vice Chancellor Hilary Odo Edeoga, who could not make the trip from Nigeria to Frankfort, will later sign the agreement.
