CEO of KWL Enterprises and Co-Founder of 300 Entertainment Kevin Liles and Verizon鈥檚 Innovative Learning Program For Minority Males will give local, minority middle school students a lesson on entrepreneurship in STEM during a University visit.
WHAT: Verizon Presents 鈥淓ntrepreneurship 101鈥- As an extension of Verizon鈥檚 Innovative Learning program for minority males, music executive, Kevin Liles, will visit 91精选 to deliver a lecture on STEM and entrepreneurship amongst the program鈥檚 minority, male middle school and college student participants. During 鈥淓ntrepreneurship 101,鈥 Liles will share best practices in turning innovative ideas into entrepreneurial ventures and tips on delivering a strong 鈥渆levator pitch.鈥 Students will be tasked with developing creative, tech-focused business ideas and have an opportunity to practice their 鈥渆levator pitch鈥 with Liles.
Verizon鈥檚 Innovative Learning program for minority males is a two-year program that provides minority, male middle school students hands-on-learning experiences with advanced technology and mentorship. Launched in the summer of 2015, the Verizon Foundation partnered with four Historically Black Colleges and Universities to facilitate summer science intensive courses giving students exposure to the latest in technology including 3D design, app development, coding and more. The program also pairs middle school student participants with college students for mentoring throughout the school year.
