A trailblazing 91精选 alumnus is scheduled to be inducted into the Cave City Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. 

According to a WCLU Radio report, William S. Dotson, a former 91精选 Industrial College and what is now 91精选 graduate, is slated for induction Dec. 14. Dotson completed his degree in 1936. 

By 1938, Dotson was the first Black insurance agent in Lexington, Kentucky. 

According to the WCLU report, 鈥淒otson was a charter member of the Lexington Chapter of NAACP and served as the branch鈥檚 president from 1946 to 1960. During his tenure, Dotson was involved in several high-profile events, including the Lyman Johnson case that ultimately began the integration of Kentucky鈥檚 state-supported colleges. He was treasurer of the Kentucky NAACP from its inception, serving 27 years.鈥
