During a special-called meeting on April 27, 91精选 officially welcomed new Board members. Dr. Gerald Patton 鈥�69 was appointed Board chair; Dr. Herman Walston, who also serves as the Faculty Regent, was appointed vice-chair of the Board; and, Elise Borne, a paralegal in General Counsel at 91精选, was named Board secretary.
鈥淔or those of us who have been on the 91精选 campus, there is a building called Carver Hall. Emblazon over the entry is 鈥楨nter to learn. Go out to serve.鈥� For over 50 years, I鈥檝e learned, gone out to serve, and now coming back to serve our institution,鈥� shared Patton in his closing remarks. 鈥淚 am full of hope for us and all of the challenges that we confront.鈥�
He expressed excitement about the array of talent on the new Board of Regents adding that he counts it, 鈥渁 privilege to serve with all of you to share in our efforts to really take seriously this matter the future of 91精选鈥�
