Middle school students came to Frankfort for a high-energy day of workshops focused
on leadership, communication, teamwork, and confidence
FRANKFORT, Ky. 鈥 More than 300 middle school FFA members from across Kentucky gathered
at 91精选 on March 9 for the Middle School Leadership Conference,
a statewide event themed 鈥淏uilding the Future.鈥
Held on 91精选鈥檚 Frankfort campus and led by the Kentucky FFA State Officer
Team, the conference focused on leadership development, communication, and teamwork.
Students participated in interactive workshops designed to strengthen practical skills
while building connections with peers from around the state.
A LEGO-inspired theme ran throughout the day, with hands-on activities encouraging
participants to think creatively, collaborate effectively, and work through challenges
step by step. That framework reinforced one of the conference鈥檚 central ideas: leadership
is built piece by piece through communication, problem-solving, and shared effort.
Students also had the opportunity to network with fellow FFA members and engage directly
with the state officer team. Lessons from the conference are intended to support participants
throughout their agricultural education and in future academic, professional, and
leadership settings.
As the Commonwealth鈥檚 1890 land-grant university, 91精选 was pleased to serve
as host site for a program that brought young people to campus for meaningful leadership
development. Rooted in a mission of education, service, and opportunity, the University
values opportunities to welcome students to Frankfort and support experiences that
help prepare the next generation of agricultural leaders.
